I felt like I was exhausted in the midst of adapting to the new environment when I started asking God what am I here for. By the grace of God, He showed me a hope that the work-life isn't a bad thing after all. Yesterday on my way home from work God gave me a word: "Missions" in the workplace. At night while I was doing my QT, God further probed me with another word: "Church". Then I prayed for God to reveal to me soon of what He was trying to speak to me about.
Soon enough, God revealed to me about the 2 word during a casual conversation with my colleague, which turned out into a Christ-centered sharing session. She was sharing with me on how this job became her missions field even though she do not need to work at all. It was the heart for people that took her out of her comfortable life as a housewife, into the working life for the work of God. She also shared with me on how my believing colleagues occasionally come together to pray for each other, to pray for softened hearts, and to really look out for each other, pouring out unconditional blessings to the people around them. I was shocked to hear, yet encouraged by their heart for people, and it reminded me about the 2 word that God has spoken into my heart yesterday. I was greatly reminded that we were placed at where we are, be it school or work, to become the Salt and Light for Christ, and the importance of coming together as a Church (tho' we may physically be of a different church), to account to one another in focusing on the Lord who is our ultimate boss in our environment, which eventually strengthen us from our daily struggles. In preserving our faith and joy in our hearts, is to stop focusing on the harsh reality of the working life, and to really focus on the heartbeat and the grace of God.
16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep Hiscommandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
