I'm still in a OOL mood. And I shall let the pictures speak first. :D
You don't call a trip fun without fun companions. But yes I'm glad that most of my trips are with fun peeps and this marks the end of my Grad Trip series, with the best bunch of people. :D
So with that I will begin with this super long post starting from Day 1....
Special thanks to Candy's mom for the delish fried rice supper to bring on board ^_^
PS: it's not allowed on board so we finished it when waiting for our flight nomz.
Special thanks to June who got us leg spaced seats in the Scoot in Silence cabin ^_^ Look at our excited faces wheeeeeeee.
It was a 7.5 hour flight from 10pm SGP till 7am OOL time. But it was so uncomfortable sleeping in planes so we ended up playing taidi throughout the entire journey starting from 1.30am. Hehe. Apologies to those passengers who were sleeping, we tried to keep our volume as soft as possible.
Caught the glimpse of rainbow sunrise. I love the sky in Aussie, so cloud-ness, so blue, with a beautiful gradient in the horizon. Pretty amazing.
Before landing!
Public bus to our Backpackers Hostel. The bus ride cost us 8.50 AUD. :( It was super expensive but lets take into account of the 45 mins journey from the airport to surfers paradise.
Pretty sightings of the beautiful sky.
Facilities in our bagpackers inn. We're super amazed at how we could find our way to the backpackers inn without GPS and without any hiccups. Hehehe. And the hostel was pretty with torquise furnishes.
Woolsworth for some grocery shopping!
It was less than 10 deg that night I think. And the windows were kind of misty so Le Chaos did a lil artsy drawing on it.
Taidi everywhere we gooooo~
Day 2:
We woke up freezing in the 0 deg weather cuz there wasn't a heater in the hostel. :( So we wrapped ourselves up and went down to cook some brekkie. Toast with scrambled eggs and hot tea. ^_^
Super delish.
I love the western culture and their awesome service, being so hospitable and so sweet with their words! We were often greeted with "hi darling how are you today" and "have a sweet day honey" etc. It was so nice, and we were often greeted at the roadside by passer bys. ^_^
View of Gold Coast's tallest residential tower: Q1
Walking down the Surfers Paradise beach wrapped with thick clothes. HAHA. We were amazed at how people could still wear swimsuits and swim down the icy seawaters. x.x And the warm sun was the answer.
On our way to meet the Brisbane peeps: Xuanz and Haizel before checking into our $54/ ea / night apartment. ^_^
Awesome viewwwwwwwww. I could just stand there all day looking at this fantastic view. *inserts heart shaped eyes*
Day 3:
Toast + Eggs + Pumpkin soup for brekkie before heading off to Springbrooks National Park. It was an hour's ride there with no restaurants nearby so we got to pack our own lunch.
And it's YOLO Candy trying to climb onto a fallen tree HAHAHA
Photos dont do justice for this shot pls. It was a tremendous view of Queensland with a sighting of the mountaneous border between Queensland & New South Wales. And we saw our plane mates hehe who sat on the same plane with us and who knew we were a noisy bunch of teens. LOL.
Peanut butter | Strawberry Jam | Cream Cheese with cornflakes & milo cereal for lunch!
And we whipped up a gigantic chicken burger with fries that night. Got stuffed quite badly but nevertheless it was the most awesome meal ever! Yummy!
PS: Candy ate her Kraft mac and cheese that night cuz it was chicken.
And on midnight ( technically 10pm in SG time), we surprised sleeping zebra..
Day 4:
Day 4 was beach day, but before that we presented Haizel's bday present: the Jet Flight Stimulator!! Hehe we're glad he liked it!
Taking us through the journey of Gold Coast to Melboune!
So after the present we headed to the beach! It was Winter but thank God for warm sun! That morning was a good 22 deg so we really enjoyed ourselves in the icy water and sand! ^_^
We found legs within the sand. :O
After Beach we headed for another round of cheap Dominos and then off to Habourtown for shopping and caught 22 Jump Street at their local cinema, which was an entirely different culture from us cuz.... there isn't any seat allocation and we got to snatch for seats when we go in. HAHAHA. Quite fun though!
Day 5:
Headed off to Carrara Market on Day 5!
The market was sooooooo huge we spent hours walking the entire thing. The market sells lots of stuff: Fashion, Groceries, Room Decor, Vintage, Books, and even kids playground and breakfast spots. Lovely place to be in even though there isn't much to buy.
I'm loving the signboards on sale there. It's so tumblr-ish. :D
Lunch @ Australia Fair after heading to K Mart. I love K mart cuz they sell lots of cheap stuff, clothes starting from $3, H&M lookalike bags starting from $10, and including scrapbooking materials that cost $9.90 here in SG, but only 2 bucks there. :O :O :O
Headed to Burleigh hill for sunset!
That night girls whipped up dinner while the guys went to the gym. lots of Fish fillet/ 7 packets of maggi mee and bok choy veggies!
We were too full to shower, so we started our usual routine of Saboteur and Taidi, this time with forfeits. :O :O :O
Omg our faces HAHAHAHA
Day 6:
Day 6 was Whale watching, out in the Pacific Ocean! it was a really awesome view of the ocean, but the strong current and waves got my motion sickness acting up and I nearly puked. x.x But we caught the sightings of whales and they were SOOOOO huge! Lots of videos on whales and when we were about to head back to shore, a school of dolphins came and look for us! HAHAHA it was an awesome view I tell you, they were jumping here and there as if giving us great performance! Candy caught lots of videos about it and I hope she uploads it soon. Hehehe.
Baked chicken and fried pasta for dinz nom nom nom. We ended the day really early that night, that we decided to head out for a drive since we still had quite a fair bit of mileage left for the car. It was an unexpected night adventure I should say. Something we don't wnna it to happen but since it happen, we don't wanna forget about it. HAHAHA. Like we said, we are having some "key phobia" now. :|
Day 7:
Huge slab of pancakes at Pancakes in Paradise for breakfast! It was a freezing -2deg weather that morning, with each of us covered with only 2 layers. Pancakes were the most comforting food that morning after what happened that night. ^_^
And so, we headed to DREAMLAND!
Fantabulous view of the Sunset.
Driver Haizel.
Our last meal in Gold Coast :')
Headed to some fish and chips shop by the beach. Ordered the snapper fish one, and it's super yummy!
And then we headed home, packed our bags, fell asleep and when we were suppose to wake up at 4.30am, all of us couldn't wake up from 4 alarms and WE WOKE UP AN HOUR LATER REALISING WE WERE LATE FOR OUR FLIGHT LOLOLOL.
Yolo much. HAHAHA. Rushed like cray cray but thank God we didn't miss our flight. ^_^ Taidi all the way in the plane and back to SGP.
Beat that. Clique 09, thanks for making this trip the most hobo but the best trip ever in my life, even though attendance was 6/10 but it was already enough to rate this trip a 5 star! I love the moments we tagged ourselves on instagram #swagasians and #uglyasians, the moments where we treat the car as a clubbing ground, blasting music away and of course the moments where we wake up together, cooked our meals together, wash dishes together and go crazy together from sunrise/ sunset views. It is simply too awesome and of course, the best grad trip ever. I will never never forget this trip guys :') And now that we're back to reality, we're all heading into different routes in life. University, work, army, whichever you name it. But the fact that we survived poly together for the past 3 years in clique outings and study sessions, this friendship was still tightly bonded and this is what matters most. :') I'm really really thankful.
Up next: New Zealand!
