  Character Building
#throwback
To this cute little girl who fell in love with my giraffe at the HK airport on our way to Hangzhou for OSIP. She held it, hug it, kissed it, and refused to return me after that HAHAHA. So cute!
Sometimes being ignorant is bliss. Life's simple. Everything is happy.

But we are living in a world of challenges and competition, which includes everybody thriving to be the best they can be. Thriving to be seen by others. Thriving to achieve what we want to achieve.

Sometimes thriving too hard that we failed to see our true self, we fail to recognise our own voices.

Attended the TP meet yesterday, and thank God for Leanne who made all the way here to give us this teaching on character building! :)

"Ability can bring us to the top, but the character is the one that sustains it"

God really spoke to me that night through this teaching.
In my 3 years of poly I've seen people trying their best to prove with their ability, the kind of achievements and goal they want to reach out to. The ability to get good grades, the ability to be in a leadership position, the ability to be recognised by teachers that sometimes we get too insecure of others being better than us that we resort to unfavourable acts just to maintain that ability that we have been embracing and living on.

So where.... did our character go to? I'm not trying to say that everybody is like this. There are also people I've seen with character and ability, who had that sincere and loving heart. And they were the ones who really sustained. I felt that it was through Christ that I truly understand how much more I can do when I focus more on character than on my abilities. Because truly, comparing with one another will never come to an end.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

Today I am encouraged at how God sees our character more than our works. I see his comfort upon me, telling me "its okay not to be at the top, it is about the heart that counts"
